How we deliver
Track work & duct installation
- Excavation and installation of duct runs for HV and LV cables, including bends, joint bays and draw pits.
- Installation of sub-ducts, draw ropes and proofing to ensure ducts are cable-ready.
- Sand surround and warning tape to DNO/IDNO specification.
Cable pulling
- LV and HV cable pulling using winches, rollers and specialist equipment.
- Pull length calculations, tension management and cable protection throughout.
- Supply of experienced teams to complete safe, efficient pulls across sites of all scales.
Substation & switchgear plinths
- Design and installation of reinforced concrete plinths for substations, transformers and switchgear.
- Accurate setting out and bolt positioning for equipment landings.
- Construction of feeder pillar and meter plinths to manufacturer requirements.
- GRP housing bases built to specification, with duct entries and earth pits positioned correctly.
Landing of equipment
- Offloading and positioning of HV/LV equipment including substations, transformers, feeder pillars and SCADA panels.
- Close coordination with lifting teams and manufacturers’ representatives.
- Safe handling procedures and secure fixing to bases.
Earthing systems
- Installation of substation earth mats, rods, tapes and test links.
- Testing and certification to confirm compliance with DNO/IDNO standards.
- Integration with existing or extended site earthing networks.
Liaison with DNO & IDNO
- Direct coordination with DNOs and IDNOs to ensure works meet technical specifications.
- Preparing sites for jointing contractors, including excavation, shoring and duct preparation.
- Ensuring all works are completed to inspection requirements for energisation.
Excavation & safe digging
- Shallow and deep excavations for HV/LV works, carried out to the highest safety standards.
- Full shoring, trench boxes and temporary works to support safe access.
- Use of VacEx (vacuum excavation) to expose and protect existing utilities.
- Safe digging practices to reduce strikes and protect critical infrastructure.
Planning & programme integration
- Reading and delivering against Programmes of Work.
- Coordinating with jointing teams, electrical contractors, and other civils crews.
- Providing flexibility to meet tight energisation deadlines and staged connection works.
